Many articles that mention the Ka present it as an amorphous soul-thing. But it doesn’t really do anything for us, does it? As it’s usually presented, the Ba is what’s really “you”- your memories, your identity. So who needs a Ka, anyway?

In computer terms, I get the sense that your Ka is your operating system. Your Ba is the info that’s stored on the hard drive. Of course, there are several other parts to a person besides the Ka and Ba, and we’ll probably see more on those later.
